Scholar Baller® of the Month: Joshua Dobbs

Every month, NFL Player Engagement and Scholar Baller® highlight a high school or college football student-athlete for their outstanding performance in the classroom and community. This month’s Scholar-Baller of the Month is Joshua Dobbs, a sophomore quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers.

4th and 1 Camp Helping Kids Prepare for Life

Miami Dolphins Director of Player Development Kaleb Thornhill enjoys mentoring kids. So when he found out about the non-profit youth football and academic camp 4th and 1 and its mission to help student-athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds go to college, he knew he needed to bring it to his alma mater, Michigan State University, in his hometown, East Lansing, Mich.

The Jefferson Awards Lead360 Finalist

In June, 16 year old Valerie Weisler joined the NFL at the Jefferson Awards National Ceremony, where she represented her organization, The Validation Project, a global movement uniting teenagers to turn passion into positive action through community service and mentorships.

Good Men = Great Families

We don’t often (ever?) associate the NFL with parenting. As a pediatrician, I get it. These gifted athletes come to the NFL to play well, help get their team to the Super Bowl, draw large crowds and well, make money for the organization.
