The NFL and NBA will co-host the Athlete Development Summit 2013 on April 11-12 in New York to facilitate the exchange of best practices for furthering the professional development of athletes at all levels of play.
The two-day program, overseen by the Professional Association of Athlete Development Specialists (PAADS), will be attended by representatives of sports leagues and organizations from around the world and features keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout/networking sessions with academic, athletic, and medical personnel.
The summit features session titles including: “Evolution of Athlete Development,” “Working with Families,” and “To Know or Not to Know: Discovering and Acknowledging Innate Gifts & Talents.”
The NFL and NBA are founding members of PAADS. The NFL’s New York office will be the site of the speeches and discussions while NBA headquarters will host the annual board meeting and networking reception of PAADS. Participating organizations for the summit include the NCAA, LPGA, ATP, WTA, MLB, NRL, and WWE.
