The Business Management & Entrepreneurial Boot Camp began on Monday April 6th 2015 at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in San Francisco. Vice President of NFL Player Engagement, Charles Way, welcomed the participants, comprised of 32 current & former players. The emphasis was on the importance of networking & building relationships in preparation for life after football.
Kenneth Shropshire of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania gave us a brief overview of the week’s objectives. The agenda includes an influence & persuasion workshop, introduction to action & learning projects, negotiating employment & business relationships, business of sports (tech companies & the sports industry), company visits, keynote panelists, tools for building high performance teams, fundamentals of communication, and investment strategy & best practices.
Throughout the duration of the boot camp, participants will practice formulating a successful Investment & Entrepreneurship pitch by working within groups and utilizing the resources provided by Wharton faculty. Players will have the opportunity to visit companies including: Facebook, Google Entrepreneurs, and Luxe to gain knowledge & interact with accomplished leaders in the field of Business Management & Entrepreneurship. On the final day, the players will present their ideas in front of the group & panel of professors
