It’s summertime and the ice cream trucks are making their rounds around the neighborhood. The kids are screaming that ice cream chant, you know the one. “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.” Instead of giving them ice cream, pull out some of these healthy, delicious, and easy to make popsicles from your freezer! Let the kids use their creativity and help you make their own popsicle!
Step 1: Gather fruit and slice ‘em up!
Step 2: Stuff pieces of fruit into your popsicle mold.
Step 3: Pour the juice of your choice into the molds until there is a ½” space at the top. You could use any juice or tea! You could also layer in Greek yogurt for an added dose of protein! Another option would be to puree the fruit and juice together!
Step 4: Push the popsicle sticks into the molds and freeze until solid throughout. Roughly 6 hours.
Step 5: Enjoy!
There are so many different combinations that you can make when you create your own popsicles! By adding the Greek yogurt with the fruit you get a fruit and cream flavor (think orange dreamsicles!) Or just puree your fruit and juice for a typical popsicle flavor, and the whole fruit pieces with the juice poured in gives you a beautiful treat bursting with colors almost too pretty to eat!
