Q&A with Jeremiah Trotter

We understand you are in the process of completing your degree, what inspired you to go back to school?

Jeremiah Trotter: I had promised my dad that I would complete my degree, so after a little push I decided to go back. I also wanted to be an example for my kids.

What has been your greatest challenge in completing your studies?

Trotter: My greatest challenges in going back to school are staying organized and remembering I am a student again and I must make time for my studies.

Now you have another feather to add to your cap, an actor, how did acting come about?

Trotter: I was approached by a friend who knew the guy who wrote the movie. He had been looking for the actor to play the character for a long time so, he thought I should give it a try.

What is the title of the film? What was your most memorable moment on set?

Trotter: The film is "The North Star". My most memorable moment was the moments I had to cry or be emotional on the set. As a guy I don't do that on que or in public. There was also sometimes, because it’s a movie about slavery, that I had to remember that all the negative words that I was being called was just for the movie.

Both acting and competing in football requires a great deal of discipline. Are there any similarities in the preparation? Which one is more difficult and why?

Trotter: Yes, patience and professionalism. Patience may have been more difficult in the professional acting with me because I was trying to do my best at being a good actor. I think professionalism may have been more difficult because I had never acted and I had big shoes to fill with the many greats that performed in the film.

Q&A with Tammi Trotter

What business endeavors have you undertaken since retirement from the NFL?

Tammi Trotter: I've taken on Real Estate as a realtor and investor.

When Jeremiah was playing there was a regular routine, how has that changed for your family since he has stopped playing?

Tammi Trotter: Not much has changed in my daily routine but now that he's home more I have to be more structured and disciplined in getting things accomplished. We have a lot more family time now and that's fun because we enjoy each other’s company.

You've watched Jeremiah on the field, now you are watching him on the big screen, what is that like?

Tammi Trotter: I feel so proud of his accomplishment to take on something he wasn't familiar with and do a great job, at least that what I felt he did. He worked hard on the role to get it the way the director wanted it.

What did the kids have to say about daddy becoming an actor?

Tammi Trotter: They enjoyed seeing some of the process of the movie being filmed. It didn't come to reality until they finally saw it.
