California’s St. John Bosco is home for the nation’s top-rated high school quarterback and Under Armour All American Josh Rosen. Ever since his early days as a nationally ranked junior tennis player, Rosen has proved destined for athletic success. As a junior, Rosen threw for over 3,200 yards and 39 touchdowns, earning himself attention from some of the top colleges in the country.
The 6-4, 210 pound Rosen is defined by much more than just his athletic ability. As the son of two Ivy-League graduates, Rosen learned about the importance of high-achievement academically early in life. He holds a 4.3 GPA and has taken AP classes in order to challenge himself intellectually and earn college credit.
Rosen’s coach, Jason Negro, feels that his quarterback’s intelligence in the classroom allows St. John Bosco to be a much more competitive team: “We're able to do so much because of the intelligence of our quarterback.”
Many college scouts have taken notice of Josh’s leadership and ability both on and off the field. Amidst 20-plus scholarship offers from around the country, Rosen has verbally committed to play at UCLA and is prepared to graduate high school early for enrollment in Westwood this coming spring semester. He projects to compete for the starting quarterback job as early as next season.
This Scholar-Baller® has goals of enrolling in UCLA’s heralded Anderson School of Management MBA program and, perhaps down the road, becoming an NFL play caller. For Rosen, the academic and athletic possibilities are endless.
“For me, my success is getting into college. And anything beyond that with football is a cherry on top. As long as I can get to that college and at least be in the situation to set myself up for success, then I’ve succeeded in terms of that.”
