NFL Scouting Combine Preparation Security Tips

It’s that time of year again…. As college football players prepare for the NFL Scouting Combine, Regional Combines or Pro Days, here are some things they may want to keep in mind so they can be focused on their very important athletic performance/job interviews and not distracted with security related issues.

Proactive Security Tips to Consider:

1. Driver’s License Registration & Renewal – As you begin to make your travel plans to attend these combines, ensure that your driver’s license is current;

2. Automobile Registration & Insurance - Before you travel make sure your car’s registration is current (note- a lapse in coverage can subject you to personal liability if you are involved in an accident);

3. Traffic / Parking Violations – Neglect leads to warrants and criminal action; ensure that you promptly pay all traffic fines and citations;

4. Child Support Payments – Make sure ALL child support payments are paid on time (note - in most states, failure to pay these debts can result not only in your wages being garnished but also suspension of your driving privileges);

5. Unpaid Debts / Liens – Ensure that all debts are promptly paid; failure to do so can lead to civil and criminal penalties;

6. Financial Records & Credit Reports – Check your financial statements and accounts including insurance (e.g. disability insurance policies, etc.), checking, savings, trade, and other financial accounts to ensure the information reported is accurately reported.

Contact the major credit bureaus or annualcreditreport.com annually to request a copy of your credit report

Credit Bureau Contacts:

  1. Experian- Fraud Hotline:  1-888-397-3742

  3. TransUnion – Fraud Hotline: 1-800-916-8800

Through all of this, athletes should remember to enjoy the experience. For assistance with any of these issues speak with your family, an attorney, or your agent for more insight.
