Class of 2014 National Signing Day

By: Troy Vincent
NFL Player Engagement, Senior Vice President

National Signing Day is today and for many of you high school stars, this signals the start of you prepping for life.

Football has helped bring you this far, and choosing where you will go to college is a major milestone that justifies all the effort and dedication you have put into the game.

But signing your letter of intent is simply your ticket for admission and there are no guarantees, since football is just one experience in your upcoming college life, and only one of many that await you.

The true value of your scholarship is the education and resources that will soon be available to you, and taking full advantage of all these opportunities is the key to unlocking all that an institution of higher learning can provide to you.

So what does this mean for you becoming one of 70,147 student-athletes playing NCAA football?

It means maximizing this moment as you prepare to be a college student-athlete, and recognizing that you are one step closer to obtaining a college degree.

Then once you arrive on campus, you can seize the moment that you earned to capture the value of a college education that will be a constant throughout your life.

Congratulations on maximizing your football talent up to now that put you in position to choose your college.

Moving on, I trust that you will wear your colors proudly, knowing that all you say and do is documented as you represent your family, your institution and your community.
