It’s a brand new year for all of us, and as a student-athlete, you hold the power to make the next 12 months of your life extraordinary in every way. Take a moment and think about what that means to you, personally. As a student-athlete, you are in a great place and time in your life. Make the most of it.

Right now, we have all had the opportunity to reflect on the past season about team and individual success. It’s the offseason. How you prepare today determines your success tomorrow and beyond. The time is now to write out and discuss short- and long-term goals both on and off the playing surface.

You control your attitude and your preparation.

As student athletes, this is the time you lean on your support network in achieving your academic and sport goals. Your coaches, parents, and teachers are wonderful resources in helping you reach your goals. You, the athlete, must take the personal responsibility to engage.

Set great expectations for yourself. Pursue your dreams and your life’s passion. The time is now. Being extraordinary simply means being you and all that you set your mind to achieve. It begins with believing in yourself, your ability, and your personal commitment to reaching your goals.

No excuses for your life falling short of your expectations.

As a committed and motivated student-athlete who is preparing for tomorrow while embracing incredible opportunities today, you know exactly what you need to do to make your life extraordinary. And that journey begins, right now.
