NFL Player Engagement
We are excited to report that on June 25th, 2012, The NFL-Wharton Prep Leadership Program is being launched as a selective leadership and achievement program for elite male and female high school student-athletes. Participants of the NFL-Wharton Prep Leadership Program have the opportunity to partake in two days of specific leadership training and professional development programming at the University of Pennsylvania. We have chosen a great class of 36 rising high-school senior student-athletes who have proven to be all-stars and leaders both on and off the field of competition.
The chosen athletes went through a competitive application and admissions process where they were asked to submit their transcripts, an essay, two letters of recommendation, and other documentation of their leadership and extracurricular activities. An amazing agenda has been set, and not only can our inaugural class expect to go through a formal foundation of leadership training designed by the Wharton School, they can look forward to hearing from current college student-athletes, the NCAA, the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, and participate in vocal awareness training.
Our inaugural class consists of athletes who are truly exemplifying leadership every day in their schools and communities. We hope this program expands what these student-athletes have already proven they are great at. Furthermore, we hope to provide them with the tools they need to have a successful senior year in high school and make an effective transition to college, no matter the level they choose to continue their athletic career. The 36 high-school athletes that have been chosen to participate come from all walks of life, racial ethnicities, and show a true diversity in sport. We know that these student-athletes will set the tone for the NFL-Wharton Prep Leadership classes that are to come.
Continue to tune into our newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, and website if you are interested or know a student-athlete who may be interested in the NFL-Wharton Prep Leadership Program in the future.
