NFL Player Engagement

This 2013 offseason NFL Ambassadors hit the road to invest in the lives of the next generation of college and football student athletes. As a part of NFL Ambassadors Program, former players are presented the opportunity to become brand ambassadors.

These ambassadors present interactive presentations to high school and college student athletes about the realities of reaching the professional level of sports and character development. The presentations feature a 15-minute video in which current NFL stars like Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck, and Ray Rice talk about the importance of academic success and having a strong work ethic to propel you in life. The video also shows former NFL stars Hall of Fame WR Cris Carter discussing the power social media and All-Pro LB Donnie Edwards discussing how choices, decisions, and consequences can positively and negatively impact your life.

In addition sharing the video, NFL Ambassadors facilitate a PowerPoint presentation that addresses how to become a better leader and develop effective on and off field habits to positively impact your team. Lastly, the ambassadors address the do’s and don’ts of social media and the importance community service.

When former NFL Stars like Irving Fryar, Tony Stewart, and Aeneas Williams step in the room and say “I’ve competed at the highest level that many of you aspire to and this is what I have learned along the way” it holds significant value to these impressionable teenagers. This peer to peer personal contact is exactly what NFLPE strives to achieve as we prepare tomorrow’s leaders to be successful on the field and more in importantly, in life.
