NFL wives laud the great jobs their husbands do as dads

By Rachel Terrill, Player Engagement Insider

NFL wives rarely pass up an opportunity to rave about their awesome husbands. This Father’s Day, that is no different. When wives of NFL players were asked what make their husbands great dads, pictures and stories came pouring in. Here are a few of our favorites:

Billy Cundiff (Kicker, free agent. Previous: Cowboys, Saints, Browns, Ravens, Washington, Bills)

“Billy is a great dad because of the patience, respect and quality time he so graciously gives our three kids. He is so involved with all of us on a daily basis and loves making the kids laugh and smile. He instills values and virtues in our kids by having open and honest conversations, but most importantly, by leading by example.” – Nicole Cundiff

Chris Maragos (Safety, Eagles)

“Chris is an incredible dad because of the way he so graciously leads and molds our two precious sons. He is a great example of what it looks like to be a selfless, servant of a Father. Micah and Mason just adore their daddy and they know he will always be their "number one buddy." Serah Maragos

“Fozzy is an amazing father to our son, Frost. Daily, he shows his patience and love for our son. He's truly my son's best friend and I am grateful for their bond.” Jasmine Whittaker

Tony Wragge (Center, free agent. Previous: Cardinals, 49ers, Rams, Ravens)

“In San Francisco, they used to have a huge mound of dirt called "the hill" that was used for training purposes. One day after practice the girls and I popped by for a quick visit. The girls were excited about "the hill" and asked if they could play on it. Tony tired from a full day of two-a-days says, "come on girls, let's go play!" So they ran up and down "the hill" a dozen times! At the end, Tony's their hero, two tired munchkins and my heart is overflowing with thankfulness! I felt so blessed to have the head of our home put our girls first, regardless of how tired he is/was/will be!” Nicole

Antoine Harris (Former safety, Titans, Falcons, Eagles)

“Our two children, Shyaun and Talaiya, have an incredibly close relationship with their father. In the past five years, he has taken them to every soccer, gymnastics and swimming lesson. He has cheered the children on from the sidelines, and even participated in coaching them.  Antoine is the best thing that has happened to me; he is the head of our household and sets the bar high for our children.” Natascha

Dan Campbell (Tight ends coach, Saints; Former tight end Giants, Cowboys, Lions, Saints)

“Deke works feverishly to ensure he spends moments and creates lasting memories with all six of our children. (don't fret... we have two sets of twins) and he has always looked at being a father as a gift.” – Gwen

Steve Vallos (Center, free agent. Previous: Seahawks, Browns, Eagles, Jaguars, Broncos)

"Steve is incredibly selfless and loving, he has always put our three children and me first, no matter what was happening on or off the field. The integrity, commitment and drive he displayed while playing doesn't even compare to the type of father and husband he is at home.  I thank God every single day for this man!” – Lindsey

Billy Miller (Offensive assistant, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Former tight end, Broncos, Texans, Browns, Saints)

“What makes Billy a great dad is his ability to always be able to get on their level to understand, communicate, listen, respond, compete, win, and love. Billy has a special ability to attach to kids and vice versa. Children adore him. He's passionate and charismatic and knows how to have fun. He is always chosen to be a team leader, mentor and "hype guy". Kids grow, mature and do things they thought they never could when Billy touches their lives. Billy has a true gift with all children and our kids see it and that's what makes him a great NFL dad.” – Rachael

Von Hutchins (Former defensive back, Colts, Texans, Falcons)

“He's a wonderful dad! Even with his busy schedule as a Pro Scout for the Oakland Raiders, he always finds time to spend with our son Preston. He shows Preston all his moves from the football field as a retired NFL defensive back - so much that our son is constantly imitating him. These two are truly best friends and are inseparable!” Summe

“My husband Kevin is a wonderful father because he gives our boys the greatest gift of all time. He loves them immensely and they worship the ground he walks on. We are a team and we show them a relationship full of love, respect and humor. It's always good to have someone to laugh with through the challenges of parenthood.” Amanda
