This week’s Faith, Family, & Football feature is: Jeremiah Trotter, Former Eagle, Redskin, Buccaneer.
PE: Why is Faith important to you?
Trotter: Without my Faith in God I don’t know where I would be. You have to have the Faith to know that no matter what happens good or bad I know God is on my side.
PE: Tell us about your Family and the impact they’ve had on your life.
Trotter: In my house it’s God then Family. My Family has helped me tremendously throughout my life and I am very thankful for them. There will be times in life where you go through peaks in valleys, but my family has been there through thick and thin.
PE: What does being a father mean to you?
Trotter: Being a father means being the priest, protector, and the provider of my home. It’s also being a good example and leaving a legacy through my kids.
PE: How has your Faith and Family helped you develop off the field?
Trotter: Because my Faith and Family are my priorities, I understand that at every phase of my life no matter what I’m doing God will always be there.
PE: How do you balance Faith, Family, and Football?
Trotter: I find balance in knowing that football is just a game and at some point it will end.
PE: What advice would you give to student athletes and current professional athletes in regards to their Faith, Family, and Football?
Trotter: You will encounter many people and friends along the way but always know that the one person who will never leave you or forsake you is God.
